One of the effects of aikido on its practitioners
is the enhancement of concentration, here's an example
If a person concentrates on imagining something,
it will help if the mind joins the effort
If you are an aikidoka, try stretching
your arm in kokyu and maintain a relaxed stance, all the while
imagining that your palm is spraying water like a water hose,
or that your arm is touching the opposite wall
Next, have a person attempt to bend your
arm using at first steady pressure, then gradually all of his
/ her strength
As long as you maintain the imagination
in your head, and not intimidated by the strength of your "opponent",
the arm will stay stretched, no matter how strong the pressure
applied
Just imagine as if you are practicing Kokyu
arm movement
This test requires half-confidence, half-technique,
and all of your concentration
In time, you will be able to use this on
any part of your body
